I’m very very good at starting things

Last night as I was cleaning up a little and deciding which project I would take to bed with me I was reminded of my tendency to start new knitting projects. Without any regard to what I may have recently or not-so-recently have started and may or may-not  probably   really don’t have time to finish. I cast on at least 4 things this last week.

  1. Albatross-cowl from Interweave knits 2013 Holiday Gifts issue.
CAM00095Sorry that pic is allllll blurry, this is also my first entrelac project so I’m completely obsessed with it. Sadly I am using thinner yarn than the pattern calls for so I’ve have to double all my stitch counts to make it big enough, doubling the time needed as well.
And I’m only kind of sure who will be getting it.
  2. A another pair of Bobby’s Booties – we are sadly behind our goal to have enough for x-mas gifts.
I’m really happy with these so far, I’m double knitting the sole for extra squish and durability.

  3. This thing…. I think it will be a fingerless glove. I mostly was practicing the tubular cast on, my new favorite thing in the world.
    Thing?
  4. A test swatch for some mittens I’m designing. While this might not really count as a project, I did start it and have not finished it. And as soon as I do, I will be much closer to starting the mittens.

There is also a hat with some scrap stash hat yarn I started for no reason, and the lace shawl I’ve been working on about a day a week. Plus I just realized this morning I have no idea what to make my sister.

I also pulled out:

  • my WFIP piece for this coming friday’s post. It’s been on the needles for over 5 years! FIVE!
  • a simple scarf knit on a diagonal in a variegated yarn, almost half done. I know that at least 2 years old.

You are probably getting the point by now, I know there are knitters out there with the same problem.
Sometimes I start something because I need something small for the car, don’t want to have to carry a pattern, etc etc. But more often it’s because I see a new yarn or a new pattern or just get smacked with a good idea and I just get so excited about the possibilities.

I just have to start something!
