some time management for a stubborn knitter

I have let the reddit dual KAL become all consuming. I barely finished a hat for my fiancé earlier this month. And while I did *finish knitting a pair of Oddities, they are heavily modified. So I started another pair trying to be more true to the pattern. And I did almost finish one, but after finding yet another mistake I have had to admit to myself, I kind of hate them.

IMG_20150217_233638There comes a time when most knitters will stop, look at their work and think,
“WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!?!?”
Or maybe…
“THIS ISN’T TURNING OUT RIGHT, WHY AM I STILL KNITTING THIS?”
This is currently my problem.

It’s time to admit pure **stubbornness will not make these happen.

These mittens can still happen, it’s all okay, but in the mean time I’m running out of of month and the deadline for this is end of March. I’ve already finished a pair, I’m not letting letting my team down.

Time to set this project down.
No! Don’t even frog it, just set it down, maybe in a ziploc and walk away.
Even just for a week or so.

It’s the 19th, not including today I have about a week to finish my other challenges.
Time for my game face.
And coffee, lots of coffee.

*( finished knitting: what I really mean when it’s done technically being knitted, but it’s not actually finished; meaning ends haven’t been woven in, it needs buttons, blocking, sewing together, etc.)
**(even if it’s a German/Irish hybrid of stubbornness.)
